About Julie
Julie Desrochers is best known for vibrant, stimulating abstract landscape and still life paintings. Julie grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended Art school at a small college. She married a professional pilot and began to travel the world where she combed through every art museum and gallery in her path. She soon became consumed with the works and philosophies of the Parisian Impressionist greats such as Renoir and Monet. Redefining the use of acrylic paint with translucent layers of color, the blended nature of her art is described as Modern Impressionism. Julie has taught both Jr High and High School Art, and especially enjoyed inspiring young artists. She has two grown sons, and now resides in rural Texas with her husband and their three dogs.
